Meet the 3rd Generation Yoto Player!

Meet the 3rd Generation Yoto Player!

What is a Yoto player?

It's the device you need to play all kinds of kid and family friendly audio content!

In 2022 we introduced you to the Yoto Mini and the Yoto audio system. And now we're excited to tell you all about the third generation Yoto Player. It is very similar to previous versions, but has some new tricks!

Like the older versions, the large knobs make it easy for little fingers to switch tracks. And it has a large pixel display that shows icons of what is playing… Or what time it is!

The new Third Generation Player has a much longer battery life, larger internal storage, improved stereo sound quality, and so much more...

For you list-of-features folks, we’re putting them right up front.

Yoto Player’s features:

  • After initial setup, kids can control what they listen to. No grown-ups needed!
  • An extensive selection of content cards that include short stories, music, poetry, and full-length books.
  • Content can be played from the parent app via bluetooth, even if a card isn’t present.
  • Use the Yoto Player as a Bluetooth speaker.
  • The pixel display brings audio to life.
  • Streaming content includes a kid’s podcast, radio station, sleep sounds, and white noise.
  • OK-to-wake timer, nightlight, clock, and room temperature sensor.
  • Enjoy up to 24 hours of play per charge.
  • Recharge via USB (included) or with a magnetic charging dock (sold separately).
Note: The 3rd Generation player cannot use the charging dock included with earlier versions of the player.
  • Listen quietly with bluetooth OR 3.5mm headphones
  • 32GB storage space for 600 hours of audio content!
  • Measures 4.33” x 4.33” x 4.13”

Yoto recommends the Yoto Player for kids three and up.
There is a lot of content younger tots will enjoy, but they’ll need help using the player itself.

What we love:

The Yoto Player is a standout at naptime and bedtime.

You can play white noise or stream Yoto’s special Sleep Radio, letting drowsy little ones drift into dreamland. You can also set an “ok to wake” timer, so early risers know when it’s ok for them to pop up, fresh as a daisy!

The third generation Yoto Player also has a sensor that sends the temperature of a child's room to the parent's app. If you have a sweaty sleeper, this is a great feature to help keep them asleep and comfy, all night long.

We also really appreciate the Yoto Player’s modern styling. Its curved angles and muted color means it will work in just about any room and with any decor.

Yoto’s Content: Cards and Streaming

This is one of the best things about the Yoto system, and why we really love it for older kids.

The content cards are about the size of a credit card. Their compact size makes them easy to organize and store.

And what’s on the cards? Just about anything you can think of– Including early reader chapter books, classics from children’s literature, and novelizations of familiar movies. Plus there’s music, short story collections, meditation and relaxation, and some non-fiction titles, too!

The sheer size of the Yoto card library means your kids won’t outgrow the listening choices any time soon.

If your player is connected to WiFi, Yoto has a daily podcast for kids you can stream. There’s also a kid-friendly radio station. It’s a mix of music for kids plus groovy tunes grown ups enjoy, too!

Setting Up and the Parent’s App

To set everything up, you need Yoto’s app. It’s a free download from the App Store or Google Play.

Once you set up your account, you’ll pair the cards to your player. When the card is paired, insert the card into the Yoto player, and download the content. The next time the card is placed in the Yoto player, whether you’re on WiFi or not, the content will play. Neat!

Yoto’s Parent’s App also lets you create playlists and record your own content to blank Make Your Own Cards. You can also invite others to record things, too. So Grandpa can tell stories about when he was a boy. Or the Auntie that lives hours away can read a favorite bedtime story and sing a lullaby. The only limit is your imagination!

The "Welcome" card included with the Yoto player can also be re-used as a Make Your Own card.

When you connect to the Yoto player via bluetooth, you can play any card in your library, even if the card was left at home.

Parent’s can also set the player to play white noise, helping kiddos drift into dreamland.

Summing Up...

We LOVE the Yoto Player for younger children. It's one of our top gift suggestions for young families and pre-K kids!
