Young scientists chip and chisel through an obsidian-style excavation block to reveal a collection of real gems, rocks, and minerals hidden inside. With each discovery, kids can identify their finds using gemologist-inspired methods—matching, testing, and classifying stones like the pros.
Once all the stones are uncovered, young geologists can put their new skills to work with the bonus mini obsidian dig for even more hands-on exploration.
This engaging science kit introduces geology basics through tactile, rewarding play while inspiring curiosity and a spirit of discovery.

Store Pickup
Store pickup is always free.
We fulfill orders as quickly as we can. If you need something by a specific day or time, let us know. Once you've added something to your cart, click the "View cart" button and put that info in the text box. We will do our best!
Happy Up Edwardsville:
- Orders are usually available for next day pickup if ordered by 2pm, Monday - Saturday.
- If ordered after 2pm on Saturday, your order will be ready on Monday (or the next business day in case of holidays).
Happy Up Clayton:
- Orders are usually available for next day pickup If ordered by 2pm, Tuesday - Saturday.
- Orders placed before noon on Sunday will be available for pickup on Tuesday.
- Some items may take additional time. We will contact you to let you know.
For Curbside Pickup:
Once we've let you know that your order is ready, give us a call when you arrive at the store. We'll bring your purchases out for you!

A $24.00 minimum purchase is required for shipping.
Shipping rates are based on your cart total after any discounts or coupons.
