Pixicade is a revolutionary way for kids to create and play their own video games!

It takes your child’s drawing and converts it to an actual playable game, no coding required.

Step 1:
Download the free app from the App Store or Google Play to your tablet.**

Step 2:
Take a blank sheet of paper and draw your level using the included markers. Follow the color key to create different game elements like movable objects, unmovable objects (walls and floors), obstacles, and more!

Step 3:
Take a picture of your drawing with the rear-facing camera on your tablet.

Step 4:
In the app, make any edits or adjustments.

Step 5:
Publish and Play!

Create 1200 different levels in Pixicade using 7 basic game types:

  • Get the Goals
  • Maze Maker
  • Volley Versus (2 player)
  • Super Slingshot
  • Hole in One
  • Brick Breaker
  • Paddle Battle (2 player)

Pixicade comes with:

  • 5 washable markers (blue, green, red, purple, black)
  • sketch pad
  • 100+ page activity and instruction book

Important details:

  • Pixicade requires an internet connection.
  • Tablet not included

Happy Up’s Notes:

We play tested this with a group of kids and they loved it!

It was easy for them to understand how to create their drawings and get them added to the Pixicade app. Once the illustrations were converted to game levels, they were able to easily edit and adjust the game elements for smoother play.

*We think that even with lots of help, six is a little young for this.
You need to be able to draw fairly steady lines and shapes for it to work. We feel that 8 years old, with some help, is a better fit.

**Our one caution is that it really does need a larger screen to work properly. We recommend using a tablet.

And what if you run out of paper in the sketch book or lose the markers? Use any blank white paper and markers that match the color code!
